Question:
Are not you tired of people thinking that the Americans and British are equal?

The British are more educated, formal, and we have beautiful old towns, not only modern and tall buildings like the Americans. In addition, we spoke a more understandable English, slowly and with an accent as old as us. However, many believe that the British are culturally similar to Americans. What do you think about it? Greetings from Oxford to all my fellow Britons.

I don't know. There are certain things Americans and Britons relate on and other things they don't. In one sense, the Britons are Europeans which naturally makes them differently from Americans. Yet Britons are distinguishable from other Europeans in many ways. They don't look as good (sorry), their cuisine is more simple and they have trouble speaking multiple languages (although are considerably better than Americans). I think it varies a bit on the British group you're speaking of too.

Your government was seemingly the only EU one to show much support for the US invasion of Iraq. And despite most Britons being against it, as well as anti-Zionist, most of their citizens were happy to see Tony Blair come in '97 so they were partly to blame.

Americans culturally best relate to English-speaking Canadians despite Canada resembling more of a socalist styled government. In general, Britons do hold themselves better in public. They have much more charm than Americans. The British real estate is more pleasent to look at. They are at an obvious advantage there being an older country that contains more of it's infrastructure from the past. Americans are much more simple. It isn't a matter of Britons being ''sophisticated.'' Anyone could look intuitive or intelligent when comparing to our average American citizen who simply doesn't value culture. It is sad but true.

In the UK, it's mainly the English people who look down on the French. This is because the two nations have fought each other several times in the past and challenged each other to become the most dominant nations on Earth at the time. There was also the alliance between the French and the Scots, united in hate against England. The battles in the French and Indian War and France coming to the aid of the colonies during the American Revolutionary War. Americans hate for the French is because of things that have happened recently. It's a result of France being opposed to the UN resolution that authorized the invasion of Iraq. Some Americans took this as a sign of them being backstabbers as we helped out France during WWII. It's pretty stupid, though, when you look back at French-American history. They helped us defeat the British so we could become an independent nation, but when they asked that we come to their assistance during the French Revolution we said 'no.'

Fellow Brit, I suspect, from your grammar, (either inaccurate spelling or confusing past and present tense) that the closest you've come to Oxford University is delivering a pizza.

Every single human in the world is a homo sapian. In that respect we are all 'equal'.

There are hard working honourable Americans and doubtless there are those that are a waste of space. The same can be said for Brits, and any other nationality for that matter.

I think that Americans used to be similar to the British, but ever since integration, the culture of the Negro slave has diluted American society. I am not saying this to be racist. It's not because they are black ..it is because they are the descendants of slaves which are the descendants of Africa. Been to Africa lately? It's the third world. Just a theory. I am American but I feel that America has become trashy. So many American people try to emulate Ebonics which is basically slave speak.

you must know this isnt true

For a start you begin your sentence with "Are not you tired "which is grammatical gibberish you wrote to make you sound more educated.

you failed

You then write "we spoke more understandable english"

1) past tense can we not speak anymore?

2) ozzy osbourne?

I dont see how we are not equal if you see equality as having the oldest buildings than I suppose the greeks are the greatest nationality on earth right now.

You have no grasp of logic or grammar

Please. The media portrays all the British as sophisticated dandies, but the majority of Britons I've met were morons who couldn't even speak/write the Queen's English. For example, instead of "what," they used "wot," and, instead of "with," they used "wif."

By the way, accents don't stay the same, and British accents have most likely changed more than American accents have. I'm surprised your Oxford education never taught you that.

I'm American and I don't get the impression that the rest of the world considers us the same. I've got nothing against the British, but I'm an American and proud of it. In fact, I'm a black American and proud of it.
