Part of my job is travelling to countries for my charity and despite the fact India and Pakistani was once joined and known as India, and had the same people. Since the independence of both countries I realised that in India most people are medium brown or dark brown/black skinned and in Pakistan it is medium brown or light brown skinned, how comes it is like that? Arn't they suppose to be the same because they are the same race?

Its a stereotype that Pakistanis are usually lighter and Indians are darker.

But if at all pakistanis are seen as generally lighter, then there are two reasons :

1. Geography of Pakistan

2. Colorism whereby any man that comes into wealth chooses to make lighter skinned women his wives.

Most times, skin color of pakistanis and indians is same, really.

Indians are darker. I'm an Indian and I can always tell the difference between Pakis and Indians. Pakistanis can look middle eastern a lot of the time.

I've seen plenty of darker skinned Pakistanis. Their complexions are based off the location they are from in the respective country. South Indians are dark, north Indians are fair skinned. Same goes for Pakistan.

Yes I know 2 indian Punjabi's where I live. People like to stereotype indians because most of them are dark skinned and brown skinned. I know there's light skinned in india. People do the same with blacks. My black boyfriend is as dark as the black woman in the link. Maybe lighter. I don't trade him for any man in this world though!

We totally different ethnicities and races its like saying why are Algerians lighter than people from Nigeria. People get confused that because of partition we are similar people but this is not the case. DNA testing has proven we Pakistani and Indian are a different race and our culture, language and ethnicity have nothing in common with Indians and only two provinces share a little bit with India.

Indian are more closer related to Sri Lankans and Australian aborigines than Pakistani even North Indians are dark
