The confederate flag stands for one thing and one thing only Southern Heritage.

Certain groups have taken the flag and twisted it's meaning to be something hate filled.

Some of you have compared the confederate flag to the nazi flag. It's actually a decent comparison. If you know the history on the swastika you already know what I'm talking about but in case you dont. The swastika is actually a symbol for the word "Peace" but over the centuries it's been taken by certain parties and used as a symbol for hatred, the confederate flag is no different.

The flag does not stand for hate. The flag does not stand for racism. The flag should NOT offend you, and if it does you need a history lesson. It does stand for heritage and personally I'm tired of ignorant people saying it's a symbol of slavery (if you believe that you REALLY need to read a history book).

Argue about it if you want but in the end not everyone who holds a confederate flag is a racist.

I live in Southern Virginia and you see them on the back of white guy's pic up trucks. They also have something called 17th Street t-shirts and some of them have the confederate flag on them. It doesn't bother me. It's just tradition for some white folks. They usually will talk to black people and do business with them and some even have friends that are black. They may be a closet racist, they may not be. Like I said, it's tradition for most, not a way of life.

I think People are too sensitive, Confederate flag not offensive, just some symbol of the Southern. It is normal for anyone to have his symbol of him.

Well...look at it this way: What do you feel when you see a Nazi flag flown?...Does it remind you of the atrocities of the Nazis to the Jews or was it just a countries flag for a time?...Some folks see the Confederate flag as a reminder of the atrocities borne by the people brought to this country as slaves and the folks who fought for what they thought were their right to "own" other people...

Idiot, everyone in America knows the Confederate Flag is offensive, but arrogant and racist White people just don't want to admit it.

Too sensitive. I'm not going to bow down or cry over a piece of factory made cloth. Like what the hell???

People need day jobs to keep their minds off of bull like this. It's just a fudgeing flag, it cannot kill you, the worst it can do is tickle your nose. The stick part, well that's different, but we're not talking about the stick part.

i don't get mad when people have the puerto rican flag..

well i do, but thats besides the point.

the nazi flag does not bother me either, and i am german.

and related to a top nazi doctor, who was not the kind of doctor that helped the patients at Auschwitz.

and the confederates didnt gas the blacks or do any really messed up stuff to them either.
