I'm sorry but I just had to answer this. Hip Hop, I repeat, Hip Hop is NOT dead. Just because you depend on the mainstream for your hip hop fix and you are thus disappointed by the Gucci Manes and Soulja Boys does not mean it's dead. You need to look a little farther than mainstream. There are far to many cats out there doing the damn thing for anyone to say Hip Hop is dead. And it's an insult to them to say so.

And look at how many old school hip hop folks are still making music. Rakim just dropped an album. Nas has an album coming out with Damien Marley.

Plus I don't know why yall act like this music is new. Yeah it just came out but none of the concepts are new. Rappers rapping about nothing ain't new. Look at the Fat Boys or Luther and the 2 live crew. What about Digital Underground? People are always dogging the game out but this is stuff that we've seen before it's just it's on overload. The problem is there doesn't appear to be a balance. Back then artists like Nas, Pac, Biggie, Big L, etc. were mainstream. People like them are lucky to get there now. But there is always the underground and if you look, you'll find good music.

So to answer you other question, Hip Hop never died. It never will. If it's dead, where's the body?

I missed this question and I have to piggyback off of the black superhero above me, Hip Hop aint dead, true hip hop fans know this. If you think what they play on the radio is the definition of hip hop then you're mistaken. Most of the rappers I listen too are not mainstream.

"Bullsh*t" - that's what it sound be called. That's what it all sounds like now a days. Hip Hop is way too mainstream now a days. It's like people don't even have to have talent anymore to sell records. They literally talk about ANYTHING i.e. Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, Gucci, etc...I mean the list is so long. Everybody sound the same but they're not saying much.

Hip Hop isn't dead, just the stuff you hear on the radio. Hip Hop is alive in underground rappers like Immortal Technique, Nas, & most Def. The popular ones 50 Cent, Soulja Boi, etc are just puppets who portray stereotypes because they are too stupid or lazy to create good songs that also have a message (like Kanye West does)

Here are some examples of REAL Hip Hop:

"Dance with the Devil" by Immortal Technique: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qggxTtnKTMo

"I can" by Nas:

Hello my friend AFR-CAM,

The name for the new genre of Hip-Hop, today, is not RAP but CRAP. lol

ps : Yes , nice avatar, "Yes, we CAM"...Hey, we changed our avatars on the same day...What a strange coincidence, isn't it?...

Cheers,
