Question:
To the Americans? What's the thing that sticks in your mind most about Australia?

Tell me the truth, no matter how ridiculous it seems, it may be true. We have a very strange country with many strange animals and a strange culture. It may not be strange to me, but to others I heard that what I think is normal makes people from overseas goggle in awe.

Liberal. Great folks. Partiers. Proud. (all those are compliments)

I worked with the Australian Navy a few years ago. They bought 2 of our LST's and are now named the HMAS MANOORA L-52 (ex-USS Fairfax County LST-1193) and HMAS KANIMBLA L-51 (ex-USS Saginaw LST-1188) home ported in Sydney. I really enjoyed working with those men and women. They were all gracious and hard working (and hard playing).

Enjoy the photos I found!

Y'all come on back again, ya heah?

lolll i don't understand 0.5 of what you reported, "barracking for Freo" and having a barbie? What are bikkies and Tim-Tams? Drongo? i don't think of American childrens are plenty distinctive than Aussie childrens...i've got under no circumstances been to Australia or met every person from there yet i think of toddlers are in many cases an analogous international huge, and united statesand Australia are particularly comparable in custom so i don't think of you will have difficulty installation in. i've got under no circumstances heard of the term, "T-wat" so i won't have the ability to declare no count if it particularly is undesirable or not. The C word is an extremely very undesirable word right here, that's the worst ingredient you are able to desire to call a individual. i'm confident it particularly is in Australia too? i don't think of they're going to hate your accessory, they simply would properly be curious and ask you a great number of questions, i think of as an Australian you will have a sturdy danger at making pals, i understand a woman who got here from Germany for a college 365 days and he or she made a great number of pals with the folk around right here. She replaced into quite stunning and well mannered, very candy, i think of as long as you take care of people stunning they're going to take care of you stunning in return. lol the eating age is 21, yet once you reside close to Canada you are able to pass there as quickly as you turn 18 and drink there, do exactly not come back to the states inebriated or you will get in difficulty haha you will do effective, that's not so undesirable right here :)

This might not be what you mean exactly but what sticks in my mind the most is......hoping I get to visit Australia some day & that I get to visit during the grand final of the Australian Rules Football League. I used to be able to follow it in one of the sports channels but sadly, they don't carry it anymore.

The poisonous snakes, spiders, and animals. (I had no idea a platypus had venomous spurs?? Yikes!)

I've always wanted to visit Australia, but after watching a documentary, I was a little put off by all the poisonous creatures.

the history of the ill treatment of the aborigines....sorry, but i don't exactly think of kangaroos and such like the other people on here.

also, a horror story (at least it's a horror to me) of some people finding dead tarantulas in their shoes comes to mind (i have arachnophobia.)
