I am a smoker but not proud of it. But I don't wish to give it up right now. I do wish that businesses, etc., would make an enclosed smoking area for their patrons. Nothing fancy. Just something with a roof, sort of like a lean-to. That way we would not be standing in doorways, etc. and getting verbal abuse from the non-smokers and worst of all, the reformed non-smokers.

I try not to smoke around my friends and family who don't like it and I try to respect the rights of the non-smoker. But it is hard to quit and they should be tolerant of us, as long as we don't blow the smoke their way or in their vicinity.

I am a smoker and NOT proud of it. On one hand people like me are lobbying hard to have tougher smoking legislations enacted, then we have people like you who're making an issue out of nothing. Where's your problem any case? You are still allowed to buy cigarettes and consume them within your privacy, at your home. What else you want?

I'd love to have one in Illinois. Damn do-gooders are infringing on my rights, as well.

Hey Lilly, so are SUV drivers, truck driver, coal power plant operators, plastics manufacturers, etc. Since when does the government pick on the weakest and least responsible?

you DO NOT have the right to pollute and stink up a public gathering area. however with overpopulation being a problem keep on smoking and a lot of you will not be around much longer. hell aint half full.
