I see your point but you are painting all rappers with the same brush so to speak. There are a handful of rappers projecting positive messages to todays youth. Most rappers are negatively influencing people who listen to them, so the only thing we can do is try to protect our young people from theses messages or at least take the time to explain to them that the things they hear in rap music are not part of the real world that they live in. It is the responsibility of parents to make sure their children don't end up in the streets shooting heroin and killing people.

Why are you associating rap with the great achievements of men Like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and civil rights movement? And what's this talk of Africa-American's committing "more hate crimes because of it". Untrue. Rap or any other music or expression should not push all the hard work, blood, seat, and tears of my people. And as far as history, you tell me what African-American history book your reading from because I never knew they printed those and if they do, who wrote it?

It annoys me to no end, when self-righteous people like yourself get on here and just talk out of you neck without evidence/proof to back you up.

I would suggest you figure out what blasphemy means.

Also, Dr. King did not fight for Africans(African-Americans) to go to school to become great people, because we were and still are a great people. How about you do some research on African-American inventors or doctors and tun off MTV.

~yawn, sick and tired of you little imperialistic imbeciles speaking on things you can't even hold a conversation about~

I like hip hop, rap is crap...

And yea like the above said, it just promotes black male stereotypes...

Will C got it right, there are some great rappers that don't have garbage lyrics, but others like 50 cent, eminem, snoop dogg are trashing our society with filth.

I guess I can see where you're coming from and I respect your opinion but I don't agree. I have been listening to rap music since 6 or 7 years old, and it has never influenced me negatively. And I'm 16 now. Rap music doesn't have to influence you in a negative way, some people just let it. And I don't think it is degrading because not all rap music is the same, there is plenty of rap music that talks about positive things too. Like I can think of a song right now from Ludacris called Runaway Love with Mary J. Blige. That is a good song that sends a positive message in my opinion, and it talks about how abuse is a bad thing. So overall I don't think it is degrading.

you are talking about radio rap...why do you think it is on the radio...almost all music on the radio is degrading...rap and rock...listen to some rap like dead prez or ice cube...not degrading at all it is very motivating and powerful...there is alot like it around, it is just underground because it is against societal ideas and big record labels will not produce it...there was a wave of positive rap in the nineties, but it did not last long...that movement consisted of digable planets and arrested development and others....radio music is all crap rap is degrading to minorities and women and rock is degrading to minorities and women as well....pop culture wants you to see certain things to enforce complacency...martin luther king got shot...if he made a record, would a major label produce it and put it on the radio...absolutely not...look for underground music, you will be surprised

No I don't. There are different forms of rap so you can't say all rap is the same. Yes some of these songs are just pure garbage, but I challenge you to listen to rappers like Lupe Fiasco, Common, Mos Def, and Talib Kwali.

Your query began off exceptional however you state that "Also those individuals rap approximately being "Thugs" and raping females and utilising the N-Word." I agree that many rap artist love to glamourize being a "thug" however I am nonetheless now not particularly to certain approximately "raping females", have been to a majority of these individuals get their track from, I imply I love hip hop except for the brand new bubble gum ****, I by no means as soon as heard a tune speakme approximately going out and raping females. Actually there one exception and it is Eminem, however I do not believe that it's intelligent so that you can generalize a entire style of track centered on just a restrained quantity of examples. By studying what you wrote turns out to me that you simply do not like rap track. Before you are making generalizations or statements please be certain that you've information that aid what you're announcing in any other case individuals might will reply in a technique that you simply would now not discover proper. For illustration do you proof that blacks were commiting increasingly hate crimes towards whites. If so wherein can I get those information.

I agree with you. Its very degrading - AND disgusting. The majority of it is "kill the bitches, f*** the hos, join the Bloods, diekilldie etc."

No one wants to stand up and say anything about it. And sweet Lord in Heaven forbid if any White person dares to talk about it... they're demonized as racists.

I don't know who is rolling over in their grave more, MLK Jr. over the direction of black society or FDR over the direction of the Democratic Party.

I agree to a point. There is good and bad rap just like with any music. His point was why do they use degrading words to describe a people and talk down to their own race to make money. Great men and women have died yes so that we can have a right to do and say things but they really died so that we would find self worth and pride in ourselves, so would could hold up our heads and not be called everything but a child of God...The words we chose to call each other even if we know someone like that is just wrong. We should be building that person up instead of tearing them down.

BUT

The world is 64% white, 11% hispanic, 9% black, 9% asian and 8% other...give or take 3%.

Hate crimes are on the rise for all...most black crimes are black on black. Gangs now come in all races. The majority of rap music sold is bought by upper class young white Americans. Yes it is getting bad but it's getting bad for all of us..every race. Now it's time to stop talking about it and do something about it...and it is hard to say but the history books today do not show to many African Americans standing on the front line and taken a bullet for our people. I have tried and I cry everytime my own people shoot me down. But I will not give up. Just pray for me.

I totally agree, If you look at all the stuff that has been creeping into the music and media you will see what im talking about. There have been studies that show that your left brain can recieve subliminal messages and through visuals and audio. Comercials, video games, movies and popular things or any music such as rap and ( hip hop- an actual religion) and rock, they are given some you can see for yourself on you tube. Its been done for many years it originated in egypt. The part you mention on thugs and all that is nothing new if you seach back in the history of thugs in the indian culture there were men called thugs that worshiped a 4 armed blue goddes- cant remember her name though. But these thugs would go in and beat up people take there money and jewlry and hid the gold in there mouth. Some of these popular people worship Idols and seek plam readers and mediums to get people like you and me to like them so much. Nothin new under the sun. They say that some beats in music also are hypnotic. People will try to get you to do stuff. There are programes like Silent voices that play under certain types of music that you cant hear conciously but your left brain still recives it. Pretty freakey. Thank God for salvation. What I figure is that all this influence in music is a tactic to wipe out a generation but you dont have to take my word for it. If you know the story of moses when he went on the mountain to speak with God the isrialites were singing songs to the golden calf as a form of worship. So the next time you decide to sing some songs- Think about how all those girls who are like oh he gone be my baby dady and oh i just love him and he is so fine and dont know a lik about these cats. Singing can be a form of worship so whn you sing songs check its back masking(playing song backwards)-reading and hearing, and its subliminal messages or silent voice techs. Seems like a lot but the bible talks about suffering for lack of knowledge. Now that you know look it up for your self and tell others. Did you know that when somone wanted you to be cursed you they would write it bacwards so you would stand in a mirror to read it to your self and curse yourself. Great example "Hotel california,"J-Z song called SATAN","Bone thugs and harmony" -Curse on back of CD- Warning I would advise you not to read it. I seen the Cd but never bought it. Sometimes just reading the lyrics is just enough to convince you that there is a negitive force out to kill you with no mercy. Especally blacks because we lack knowledge. Please Check it out for yourself.
