When will black people get reparations?

For the enslavement and injustices given to their ancestors that affect them someway today, whether they want to believe it or not.

Huge example: Whenever we're having a project on our Family Tree, African-Americans are generally the ones that only list up to their great-grandparent . . . That alone should get you thinking about the tone slavery set on on future African-Americans not just physically, but culturally and emotionally.

I think 500,000,000 for each African-American is enough, although the debt owed should be in the trillions; 450yrs of injustices, not to mention the crap after.

But the money should go to fixing Caribbean nations :)

Come on why should we get compensation for something we didn't go through. The people that caused slavery are dead and so are the one's that were enslaved. There's nothing anyone today can do to compensate the people that went through those hard times. What would come from giving African Americans money?



I hate only knowing my history up to like my great great, (some were native american too) but we don't need to be paid for our ancestors labour.



When are the natives going to be compensated for being killed off and having their land conquered? It's never going to happen.

Except for that fact that current black people have absolutely no connection to slaves in the past other than a blood connection.



My family is from Eastern Europe. Should I get reparations for the hundreds of years of tyranny that occurred from various occupations during my country's history (which included slavery)?



Absolutely not.



All you can do is learn from what people did in the past and work towards a better future. Be thankful that we have moved ahead and stop assuming your somehow different, that's what causes issues like slavery in the first place.



P.S. I can only go as far back as my great grandparents too. On my father's side I only know that my grandfather was the product of rape.
