I don't mean everyone but I mean in general. A lot of Korean people seem to dislike Japan and I know it's because of difference in culture, the small and enclosed mind of most Koreans, and the history between those two countries but it has nothing to do with the people now! I'm Korean and my grandparents raised me to know that Japan stinking sucks and people are bad influence and all and that's what I thought... Until anime came strolling into my life and I just fell in love with Japan. I LOVE JAPAN SOOO MUCH. Although I've never been there, I love how it looks, how things work, food, people, language, culture, and so much more. One day, I wish to go there with my friends but my Korean friends told me that Japanese people hate Koreans and that I'll die if I go there because they all hate Koreans...? This is so unfair..... PLEASE TELL ME IT'S NOT TRUEEE T__T

Because you are fascinated with the Japanese culture, food, language etc. Wouldn't it be obvious you'll see more Japanese people interested in Korean culture, entertainment, food etc.? I mean Korean entertainment is pretty popular in East Asia.

You shouldn't question your grandparents, different eras, therefore you won't understand the relationship back then. I assume you are Asian American since it looks like you are asking in the US so its even harder to understand because you are most likely raised in a westernised environment.

Mainland China also have history with Japan, even worse than Korea and China and Korea are trying to build their relationship in a positive way so politically, I don't think that helps because Japan knows about the politics regarding Mainland China and the CCP, so they will question why South Korea are trying to build some kind of relationship with them.

"my Korean friends told me that Japanese people hate Koreans and that I'll die if I go there because they all hate Koreans" - I think that is an exaggeration.

Relax, I don't think you'll be killed in Japan.

Of course there are some extreme right-wing people who apparently express their hatred towards Korean people, especially these couple of years, but they are very exceptional. I know there are some Koreans who burn Japanese flags in a demonstration, but I know they are not the majority. The same thing.

Country vs. country is different from person vs. person. When our nations are not getting along well, individuals can be friends, ...why not?

Some of my friends are really into Kpop and Kdrama. My old mother and aunt love to watch Korean dramas every day on TV. I personally think Korean government is weird but I really like Korean movies and I like to talk with Korean people.

I hope you will visit Japan some day :)

Most of Japanese do not hate Koreans.

However,I guess that 10% of intellectuals of Japan hate Koreans.

It's opposition to anti-Japanese activities of VANK and Korean Government.

If you are in the Korea-town of Yokohama or Tokyo, you might encounter a anti-Korea demonstration rarely .

However, you will never meet violence. Japan is peaceful.

I recommend that you go to Kyoto and Nara.

Here, there are many temples, and their gardens are beautiful.

You would feel to have a look at the landscape of lost Goryeo.

There has been a long history of war between the 2 countries for centuries,even-though many scholars think the Japanese may have originated in Korea

i think some people are narrow minded, theyre everywhere not just japanese.

so id say some japanese are very narrow minded. they dont talk to you just because youre different and give a weird look to you, which is rude.

Koreans hate Japanese not because of culture nor because of small enclosed minds. They hate the Japanese because Japan invaded Korea many hundreds of years ago and pretty much wiped out the whole country's population and chopped down all their trees. Read up on your histroy young lady....

From my experience though - the Japanese don't hate Koreans in particular...they pretty much hate anybody who isn't Japanese :)
