Most people at my school and everyone I know run and hide from me because I'm an emo goth. What would you do if you met me?

I would talk to you like I would talk to anyone else.Just because you are goth or emo doesn't mean anything.

I would tell you not to take anything people say to you to personally because it will have no bearing on your future success. I'm an old grown up goth. No matter what you wear, your interests will always remain.
I still collect my art dolls (Ugly Shyla's), I still love horror movies and stories, I still attend Goth events, I have been published as a model in Alt Magazines (Alt Fashion, Devolution, Unscene etc...) I major in behavioral sciences and I am (allegedly) a very good Mom. (When my children are grown & self sufficient, then I will believe it.)
My fellow goth friends? One is a successful marketing manager of a high end shoe designing company. One is a latex clothing designer in Hollywood and another has a PhD in Biochemistry from UCLA.
Expect people to be judgmental when you are comfortable with things that aren't cookie cutter. Work on your own patience and tolerance. At the end of the day it isn't Us vs Them, it's just "Us".

I was a real goth back in the 80's when anarchy, individuality, creativity and being pissed-off actually meant something. Back then it was about existing outside the system while still making a relevant statement. Today's "goths" are whiny conformist posers who wouldn't know Iggy Pop if he bit them on the @ss.
Emos are spoiled whiny wannabes who hang out at the mall, listen to douche-baggy music, and complain about how "nobody understands them".
Right now I am working on my 2nd Master's degree, working my butt off to pay my mortgage and the car loan on my newest toy, and my job requires that I spend lots of time dealing with Capital Hill. I STILL wear mostly black. My music collection still rawks like a mofo. I still fight the system (even though I work for the system). I'm still pissed-off.
When I encounter emos, I sneer uninterestedly in their general direction and otherwise ignore them.

if I met you I would try to talk to you, id ask question that I never ask any one else, I would tell you who I am and that I am an outcast and no one wants to come near me either, then ill ask if you would like to hang out sometimes, because even though I am an outcast I still know how to have fun.

If you're a nice person I'd be glad to have met you. I just don't understand why a lot of you like looking dead and depressed? You know you got your whole life to be dead? Just try on living for now.
