many of them that I know, even the Hmong ones from vietnam have got an extraordinary caucasian names that used in medieval time or Renaissance times. and we rarely have heard those names among modern white people.

for example.

Lavina
Winneyfred
Cecilia
Masha
Cherry Anne
Suprina
Petra
Patra
Biony
Cinvia
Nance
Anne
Jayne
Mae
Ramona
Catherina
Myria
Fairisa
Varissa
Stefan

many of the muslim in south east asian this day also prefer arab names rather than religion names or their local names as they used to.

for example.

Natheresia
Sarah
Sabrina
Falida
Shalina

i disagree with the answers saying that asians want to be "black" or "white" maybe some, but for the majority no. it actually amazes me because i'm sure some of these answerers have said before "what is acting [black/white/asian/hispanic]?"

and to the asker, what country do these asians live in? i can assure you that my relatives live in vietnam and that i been there. and out of all the stories i heard and all the people i have met, i can tell you that no one from there have those kind of "caucasian names" they simply won't fit in.

as for asians living in western countries, of course having a western name makes sense. i hate people who peg asians for having western names. i too have a western name by i also have an asian name. if asians choose to keep their asian names then people would make fun of their names. have you not heard these stories at school? or their asian names would be mispronounced and horribly punned on. what kind of person would want that?

*Note: "sorry if I went off in the wrong direction but the question about names do tie in with my point." lol It's a culture different type of issue just like there are American cultural issues. For example in America the media has the ability to brainwash all people. Most programs and news are geared towards the White audience. So it is no surprise that people from Asia or are Asian Americans want to be accepted. Black people are looked down upon when it comes to values and skin color. Only time "Black" is rite even if not "White" is when we are shown in a cool and talented light. I'm sure in Asia since some have never even meet a Black person that our media is a powerful tool for them. Stereotypes are enforced and are used against us so that we as minorities will reject each other. In reality since we are only human and have basic similar needs why not unity?. Knowledge is true power... people need to just stop being so ignorant and learn how to think on their own case closed.

Every Asian person that I have ever met has had somewhat of a self hatred for themselves. In the USA, everyone either wants to be black or white, because those are the two most popular and powerful ethnic groups in the United States.....its sad really. All the asian guys i know wanna be black, and all the girls wanna be white

The Caucasian "race" consists of people from Europe, North Africa, South Asia (India), Central Asia and West Asia. Your belief and knowledge of who is Caucasian or not is very flawed and limited.

And besides, when did Caucasian people buy patents and trademarks for "white" names?

E man is right. asians are wannabes.. i've once asked an asian girl why she was named agnes, she told me her parents loved foreign names and her brothers also have foreign names. lol Its not just their women who go crazy for white guys.
