i am sick of hearing how we should help people in other countries?

when we can't or don't even want to help american citizens. where are our national priorities people? is our goal of domination of globalization really that important to leave americans behind?

I agree with you very much.... We should close our borders to everyone stop sending out money bring our troops home and take care of our own damn country before we attempt to take care of others... Hell we are at war because the american government is so nosy we can't stay out of other ppls business.....

I agree. It's not that I don't want to help other people but we can't start helping others until we help our own nation. We have homeless, poverty and sick here on the streets in everyday life. We're giving billions of dollars to other countries when we're in need too. (I have nothing against foreigners) but they can come here and in ten years build a multi-million dollar business from stratch with grants and loans when Americans who were born and raised here can barely feed their families. America needs to take care of its own problems before it starts helping others' problems. I hope Hilary Clinton wins. She'll be able to put America back at the top hopefully. But America seems to take care of every other country's problems except their own. We can't save the world when our people are dying too.

You can spend your own money on whatever you want. I'm not going to tell you what charities to give to, or what clothes you should buy, or whatever else you want to use your money for.



Of course there are people in the U.S. who need help, but the help is usually available from the government, if they ask. On the other hand, there are millions of kids in Africa dying of malaria and AIDS, and millions more going blind and being crippled because of preventable diseases, and millions more starving or undernourished, who will probably not grow up to be productive citizens unless someone does something to help them. Their own governments don't have the resources to help; therefore, they look to the outside world for help.



And yes, our government helps people overseas in part to get the goodwill of other countries, which will increase our influence in the world.



Also, where do you draw the line on helping Americans? Will you help people in other states? Maybe we should only help people in our own neighborhoods? I happen to believe that all people are brothers and sisters, all entitled to a decent life, and international borders are just artificial creations to keep us apart.

Well, I agree with you but I think that we are more fortunate here then in Africa and other places with starving people. It's not exactly right to be against them, but I know what you mean. The pressure to help out others is a little bit excessive. But we should, and I'm not against it.
