If it's being where there aren't too many people, period, allow me to suggest Montana. There is just a whole lot of open space in just about every directon. This is the opposite of New York. The folks there are not only pretty nice, they are not the "in your face" type. Plus, the landscape (for the most part) is beautiful. And when it comes to weird, I think Ted Kaczynski (also known as The Unabomer)certainly qualifies.

definitely the island of Gomera (Canary Islands, Spain). lotsa hippies from all over europe and the world. they r all weird and nobody harrasses them there.

in the us i'd say oakland,ca for west coast, ithaca,ny for east coast, austin,tx for the south and eureka springs,ar for the midwest with maybe sedona,az if you are extremely weird!
