Native American Indians land bridge Theory Xtians?

I've noticed A LOT of the same people that expound the infamous 'land bridge THEORY" are the same people that claim to be xtians.
I wonder how is it that they balance these things with each other. How do they claim THIS theory is FACT and in a second breath say all life came from adam and eve? and in yet another breath they go with all life came from africa. How do these people sleep at night with such conflicting ideals in their heads?

Good morning Mr.TwoCrows.....I see your point very well. And you have a good question. How can one claim to be a Christian but yet believe that evolution and the 'infamous land bridge' theory is also factual and true. Researchers and scientists believe to the stand point that 'evolution' created life and the different species of animals and humans here on earth. Archaeologists have found supposedly 'evidence' of such theory. These same individuals also say they are Christians so how can one say 'I believe in evolution' but on the 'other hand' believe that God created all 'things'. They are contradicting each other at the same time. Now I believe that a 'Great Spirit or Entity' had to have created the heavens and earth. I also believe that this same Entity or Great Spirit created man/woman. Now scientists believe that 'we' humans evolved from apes in which they had found evidence in Africa of a species close related to man and beast. The first 'ape-man' I presume. For some strange reason, I just can't picture Adam and Eve being apes. Although it could be a possibilty I guess, I just don't happen to believe in that theory. Possibly God created life and all things but evolution finished where God left off. I don't know how these certain individuals can have both concepts at the same time. If you are a 'firm' believer in God then one shouldn't believe that 'we' humans evolved from apes. And I don't believe that 'All Life' came from Adam and Eve. I believe that 'All Life' came from the Creator or the Great Spirit. Have a great day!

Good Question TwoCrows.....Since I came here to Yahoo Answers I have spoken about this so called "Land Bridge" but it is like speaking to Deaf Ears....to note that this myth

is still identified today as a theory, not a fact. A theory is defined as ....an offered opinion which may not positively be true." Yet this theory is taught in schools still today as if it were the gospel truth. It is far from truth, I mean for example the Mohawks have had calenders for over 33,000 years....and still this theory is kept like it is something of truth.....the Bering Strait theory provided a 'scientific'

means to justify the taking of ancestral Indian lands. In short,

the mythical theory eased the conscience, as it was a way for

land hungry immigrants to believe that, because Indian people were only 'recent inhabitants' of this land that it was not our 'homeland'. Therefore we were, in their minds, not any more the 'original people' in this land than they were. This was, and still is, the political power of the infamous

'Bering Strait theory'.....for political reasons this Theory still exists...science does not have the market cornered on fact, nor on truth...and as long as I can speak I will on the Theory....because that is all it is......

Now even more: The evolutionists say their's is the correct answer to how life started and they have the answers. But yet they have not been able to create life. Not even a single cell animal.

So you be the judge of who is right and who is wrong. the one theory as you call has a supreme being creating life. The other can't create life.

You be the judge for yourself. Which is it God the creator of life or Evolutionist that don't have a clue about how to create life. And in their theories they haven't yet to come up with an answer.

It's possible to revere a set of traditions and beliefs as spiritually true, without acknowledging them as scientifically true.



The spiders in my house certainly don't look like Grandmother Spider and they'd never be able to capture fire, but I totally respect and understand the truth in a story that tells how Grandmother Spider did just that.



My tribe has about 4 or 5 different stories about creation and our role in the universe and how we got to our lands. Some of these stories complement and some really, honestly, compete. They're all real, spiritually, because they answer important questions. Scientifically? There's more to it than those stories.



The same is true of Christian beliefs. Christians can respect and honor the spiritual truth of the stories while understanding the scientific truth as well. The story of Adam and Eve illustrate spiritual truths to Christians. The fossil records and our own DNA reflect scientific truths.



Now, I do have problems with fundies and their literal Adam and Eve and the Mormons with their Book of Mormon stories, but I can totally respect people who understand that some spiritual stories are there for spiritual truths.



And you might want to update your knowledge of archaeology. The types who are really hot about the far, far past in the Americas have started acknowledging that it wasn't just a land bridge in the last ice age, but that the Americas have been peopled for a very, very, very long time.

Mr. TwoCrows, usually people live and say what they learn. I do believe that the Creator made Adam and Eve and placed them in "The Garden of Eden" but at the same time, I believe that the Creator made other people from all the colors of the wind and races and placed them in different areas of Mother Earth to tend a take care of our mother and to multiply. I mentioned the land bridge theory in my book "Pine Needles." I believe that our Ancestors crossed the land bridge from Turtle Island and went to other places, in search of game. Right here in North Carolina, less than thirty miles from where I live, they have discovered an ancient Indian village that is older than the land bridge theory. So, there is proof that the land bridge theory stinks. As far as the Africa theory goes, I don't believe that no more than I believe the land bridge theory. then conclude that adam and eve had to have started out in africa, since the bones theyve found there are the oldest..lol..



from africa, they populated the world by migrating to other places, crossing land bridges and so forth..



these theories are based on modern science and peoples distorted beliefs on the bible, which are both "FALLIBLE".



Personally i don't believe in the AFRICA theory.



i do believe all humans descended from adam and eve though. BUT - the location of the "GARDEN OF EDEN" WAS NEVER stated in the bible, therefore it could have been almost ANYWHERE on the earth, and from it, a migration to other places on the earth took place..



Aside from the adam and eve part, these theories aren't specifically a Christian thing, trust me theres a horde of people both religous AND non-religous out there that believe in all kinds of scientific hogwash..

as for the science and fossils part, its all GUESSWORK when they find bones and put a date on it.. there are MANY places in the world that haven't been properly excavated yet, they still haven't even found Ghenghis khans burial spot!!

i'm not xtian but adam and eve could have been in Israel area or africa and thier childrens children crossed the land bridge 5000 years ago. 5000, 10000, i'm just making numbers up i'm not xtian and don't really care. But if you can't rationalize these two beliefs somehow you're not very creative.

lol i don't know if life started in any of those places , my father told me we came thousands of years ago in a boat down south and faught and walked our way to the east coast. but our people came from a star and put knowledge in our blood to watch over this island. so i dont think i came from africa or land bridge or evolved or what ever i just am one of the people.

I have no problem sleeping at night because I see no conflict. If you want to add to your thinking, know that at the peak of the last ice age the pack ice in the Atlantic Ocean extended from the Arctic all the way to the Mediterranean in the winter. Artifacts from the aboriginal peoples of Europe have been found on the North American continent where people traveled on ice and many were stranded on this continent. Even now you find an occasional full blooded white, blue eyed Native American Indian. Ain't life grand? As well as beautiful?

I know the great spirit mad the heavens and earth. science can not prove anything. are we to take their word. how do we know they are correct, or history for that matter. we hand to take what we hear and know and make are own decision on what we believe and want are families have taught us. all will come to light on day when we are all faced with are creator then we will find all the answer to all questions.
