Culturally Speaking: Why are black people from the ghetto so ignorant?

I know ignorant people from every culture. I feel very bad for the slavery that went on in America, and it cannot be taken back. Black people were however not the only people to be enslaved, there were many other races that were enslaved. From my perspective, in the black culture; being ignorant is cool. One of the smartest people I know is a black women, and she doesn't think ignorance is cool. Social pressures are of powerful influencing powers. It makes me sad to see ghetto people who have given up on themselves, and bring their race down.

I thinks it's because they are isolated,from a wide variety of people.

When a person grows up in that same environment they become ignorant.

People who are ignorant are people who are close minded.

For the young people that grow up in that environment have more pressure being they don't always fit in.

If they don't share the same values.

Even people that are not from the "ghetto" can be very ignorant.

Simply because they don't understand it and they prejudge without trying to understand it.

Not all people from the ghetto are ignorant. I grew up in the ghetto and I was always being teased for being too proper but my mother raised me to behave intelligently and I'm thankful for that.
