Why india and pakistan got seperated?

What is the exact reason for the division?what is the exact incident that made muslims to need for seperate country? Why hindus in india allowed to divide india?during british period how could they thought for division themself during freedom struggle? Why they (both hindu and muslims) not think unitedly?is it not foolishness?because india was ruled by both hindu and muslims kings! But that time they lived together. But why they think for division during british period alone? Why muslims in today india not liked to go pakistan at that time?

I thing that the main reason behind the separation or rather partition of the two countries could be a stunt of getting political strength by the Two different leaders, Jinnah from Muslim league and J.L. Nehru from Indian National Congress. Both of them were eminent leaders with superb leadership qualities, redoubtably both having full potential to run the country successfully, I guess that if any one of them would have compromised from his own side, the partition would have been avoided to a great extent. though this not the only reason of the partition but we could take it as one of the essential factor.

The reason the British were forced to partition India was because fundamentalist groups like the RSS were active even in those days and fueling hatred against the minorities as they are wont to do. Even though Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru did their best to allay the fears of the Muslims they feared that they would be alienated and discriminated against as is being done in India today and great Muslim leaders like Jinnah who foresaw the fate of the Muslims in India demanded a separate country for Indian Muslims. India did not belong just to the Hindus, there were Muslim and Hindu rulers in India when the British took over the country. Historically India has had Muslim rulers who ruled the whole of India but Hindu rulers were just one or two. We had a few Buddhist rulers. So the RSS fanatics in India were largely to blame for the partitioning of India and to this day they are to blame for all the atrocities being perpetrated on the minorities. Only God can save mother India from these fanatics who are also blood thirsty lunatics.

There was religious differences and India wanted to follow their holy book, and Pakistan wanted to follow their holy book that is why Pakistan is now Islamic Republic, and then East Pakistan ( Bangladesh ) broke off because of being treated and taken advantage of like second class citizens not to mention being forced to speak Urdu as a national language. Anyway I dont see the big difference, I would marry a Paki, Indian, Bengali any day. I promote the unity of the countries.

You are asking this question rather too late in the day.Answers to all your queries are there in the historical records available on the internet.(just Google them ).On the hind sight one may add that no where masses were involved in this decision but a handful of political leaders,mainly Nehru and Jinnah.We can assign any motives to them but can't reverse the Time Clock now.

Muslims are invaders of the land....they are not native to the sub continent are they never will be. They are foreigners, colonisers and imperialists. I am glad that they got seperated....However if all Muslims had left India when they were supposed to in 1947 India would have been a very happy and peaceful country today.

because muslims eat cow, cows are hold gods to hindus. so after sucking up to the british the hindus became powerful and said to muslims "don't eat our gods or will deport you", the muslims said "we like eating cows even though they are your gods and you hindus can do anything you like but we won't stop eating your holy cow gods " that's when all hell broke lose and eventually two countries
