What exactly do skinheads do?

One of my deceased brother's friends is a skinhead. At least, I think so. His MySpace status says "support your local skins" and "pure." I am kind of freaked out, because I don't agree with racism or supremacy of any kind.

I have met this guy, and he just looks like a punk rocker (leather jacket with 1,000 buttons, shaved head, jeans with holes, Docs) but I was researching on Wikipedia and realized that skinheads also wear Docs and dress similarly.

What are some common skinhead/white supremacist symbols?

What do skinheads do, anyway?

Please don't give me the Wikipedia link - already went there. And please don't attempt to educate me on the history of racism. I just want to know what modern skinhead do.

Nothing. They just run around pretending that they have some almighty cause. Really they just run around and talk crap for no reason but yet most still get scared at the sight of even one black guy. F'in punks.

Skinheads are about music, they don't do anything...its just a lifestyle.



As far as white supremacist (please don't call them skinheads even if they call themselves that...they are nazi's or racist. simple as that. ) they don't do anything either...they are just hateful



Common symbols for white power, are swazi, saint declan cross (not sure how that came about but look it up), 88, and there is a circle with arrows going out all directions ...a band has it cant remember the band.. but those are the commonly recongized ones.

My friend BB was a skin head , but I think he was just a Punk Rocker guy. I don't know if he was racist , but when him and my girl who happens to be black first met they got into a fight and my girl was told not to come back to the place were we were staying. I had to sneak her in , but that is because it was a program where they thought she was causing trouble. I don't know if skinheads are all racists, he never admitted to being racist.

There is a great movie about the new age skinheads. It stars Ed Norton and pretty much explains what they do and what they are about. The movie is called American History X. Definitely a good watch.

the movie is a story about a 10 year old friendless boy who lost his father in the Falkland's War and gets bullied at school. He meets a non-racist group of skinheads (the ORIGINAL skinheads) who befriend him and make him feel welcome and happy. Later he meets a different sort of skinheads who are racist and hate immigrants and they slowly but surely turn this kid into one of them.



It's a very good and thought provoking film that puts your cognitive abilities to the test. You'll love it.

Well don't freak out. The media has made them look like evil dangerous trash, but I find as long as you have an open mind, you'll find they're really not bad people.



don't automatically condemn them right away. Keep and open mind, and try to understand them.

i am telling this from what i have seen and not from what i heard.

my mates girl got raped on the streets and my mate...well he's still in the hospital.



they're usually in small gangs which represent bigger gangs, london mostly has them and thats where i come from.



im not saying all skinheads are like that but majority of them are just discusting.



i myself oneday got threatened by them to shave my head of but luckily i told my older brother and there was a little fight

it comes form the 60's mod culture when it divided into two groups one of them was the skinheads who adopted reggae, ska from jamaicans immigrants... and northern soul - personally been to northern soul event and theres absolutely nothing wrong with them... they come to have fun like everybody else and dress the way they like



originally many skinheads had absolutely nothing to do with national socialism or far left/anti facist... and many still dont.

They hate and hurt people pf all races that are not white, white as in German descent, not mixed like Italian or other dark haired Europeans. Its more of what they believe than what they actually do, they believe that only the white race should exist in the world and others don't deserve to be here.



Their traditional symbol is the swastika, the Nazi sign.

They lay around acting stupid. they are kind of the equivalent to people who dress like they skateboarders but dont skate. Or another example: a white guy acting black.
