Do people still think Ethiopians and Somalis are full black?

Why do people think we are 100% black, when that is not the case? If we were wouldn't we have features like of this person who is of full sub saharan descent: http://media.photobucket.com/image/michael%20jackson%20as%20a%20kid/pic4me12/015.jpg

That's how a full typical black american looks like.

And although not many ethiopian women look like her: http://www.nbc.com/miss-universe/images/delegates/Ethiopia_MU1.jpg They still share the same caucasoid features. Do you still believe we are 100% black?

I met two Ethiopian ladies once and they told me that they weren't black. I asked them "then what are you? and they said they were brown. i told them brown is not a race, they still said their race was brown, they didn't want to be black, I was like WTF?

there are a variety of types, or ethnic groups, of the black race. There are over 800 different black ethnic groups in the world, and you and your fellow Ethiopians/Somalis are one of them. So, as much as you probably wish you were white since you have "caucasian features";I'm sorry, brother, you're not.



And this is my question to YOU:

why are you so stuck on the stereotype that ALL blacks are supposed to have large lips and noses? I'm not even fully black,(Im half black half latina) and that even ticks me off. Just because a different black ethnic group looks different from another doesnt mean that they both don't belong in the same race. Look I'm sorry for being so harsh,but i hate it when people dont understand these things. Perhaps you're highly misinformed or something, but you should know this, since you are of actual African decent, right?

What you dumb a s s Americans don't realize is that black comes in different varieties and colors. And a person doesn't have to be very dark with a wide nose to be fully black. There are even tribes in West Africa who you would think are mixed but are fully black. So educate yourself why don't you.

I am Somali and even Somalis and Ethiopians know that they are black. I don't know why you bother pretending to be Ethiopian, Leonel. If you are Ethiopian, write out this sentence in Amharic for me - in Ge'ez characters: "Ethiopians are not black". If you can do it correctly, then you are Ethiopian. But then again, we all know you're not.

I don't think the majority of people care, except maybe you. People are what they are period, so what's the big deal anyway? You can't base race on looks alone, I have some relatives as white as snow and they are black by heritage, and I have some that look totally Indian but they identify as black, so what's the big deal? Why does it worry you so much?

Most black Americans are mixed with white or Native American.



Most Ethiopians and Somalians are mixed with Arab.



Long story short, most black people are mixed.
