Emo is a subgenre of hardcore punk music. Use of the term (and which musicians should be so classified) has been the subject of much debate.



The Emu( the 'u' sounds like 'you') (Dromaius novaehollandiae, Latin for "fast-footed New Hollander.") is the largest bird native to Australia and, after the Ostrich, the second-largest bird that survives today.

Emo has been used to describe overly emotional people but that is hardly an "official" definition. If you see "emo" used in a context where it seems to be describing an overwrought person then that is probably how it is being used.
