Question:
Do any other Americans want to leave America?

...Or am I the only one?
If so, say why you want to leave.
My reasons are social/political. And I only have 888 characters left to work with, so I won't go into detail.

Not many. And not near as many as want to come here. One good thing about the US is that you can leave.

Bye, and good luck with where ever it is you go.

No absolutely not!!! The grass may seem to be greener on the other side, but trust me it isn't. First, no country is perfect all nations have their problems, leaving America won't change that. Secondly, despite our problems our system of government is far better than some overseas (although you may not think so). Unless you've spent time in other countries you probably don't know what I mean. To get some idea what I'm talking about, rent the movie brokedown palace.

Third, leaving here would make you a coward!! It takes more courage to try and fight for change than run away. If you want to be a good American stay here and try to make a difference don't be a coward and run.

Lastly, I'll leave you with this. If you left where would you go? And what would you do if you didn't like where you ended up?

I do not want to leave. But the way that you are feeling you may want to try Canada? To leave a country just for those reasons...IMHO...is wrong. If you are that mad/upset/depressed over that then may I suggest that you start to work locally and try to get change started from the bottom.

How much does the president really affect you? Not too much. All politics are local politics. So that is where the change needs to happen. What goes on in Washington DC is not as important.

Nah, you know, you go over there thinking it's better, but it's only better if you have a ton of money.

Johnny Depp can pick up and move to France b/c he's a millioniare.

It's harder to naturalize to another country than you think, and the culture shock and comfort zone you have may shock you.

We are spoiled here in America...

If I can make a recommendation: Canada. It is the one which won't give you as much as a culture shock.

Yes, for safety & prosperity, less stress & shame, & the freedom to say what I really want to about America's current administration, I'd like to go to a more peaceful and much less "nosey" & arrogant country, like Canada or Switzerland or Australia -

better yet, how lovely it would be to live in Amsterdam! (I guess you know why, right? Sweet!)

But, the thing is, I'd probably be trading these problems for a whole new set of problems. Like they say, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Having lived out of the country for a little over one year, there is no way that I would ever leave. When YOU are the foreigner, they love your currency but hate/dislike/disdain you for being American. And all countries have social and political problems. The grass is definitely not greener.

You might be the only one. I keep hearing all these threats by democrats that they want to leave, then LEAVE. The problem is that is all BS talk (not unusual for dims).

The USA is still the greatest country in the world regardless of all the bashing it takes. A simple reference to the greatness of a country is, how many people want to come in vs. how many want to leave. The USA holds that record, it has 100 fold of how many want to come live here vs. how many want to leave over any other country. So if your discontent with social/political actions or in-actions.... Leave now. I am willing to bet you will be back, no matter what other country you choose to go to.

Word of advise, stop trying to be like all these BS hollywood types, who all claim they would leave... none left. Establish your own persona, and stop listening to hollywodd or media folks.

Yeah, If I was financially able to I would love to live in another country. I know plenty of other people who feel the same way and who do move. I'm not saying that other places are better than here. People get curious about other places.

So your not the only one that feels that way.

And for people about to insult me for my views, I have the right to my view just as much as you have the right to yours.

I want to leave America as well and live in Germany. I want to be a German translator. The only thing is holding me back is that I'm still in college, but right now I'm studying abroad in Heidelberg, Germany and I love it here so much. When I have children, I want to raise them here in Germany. There is nothing wrong in wanting to leave America. For me I will be sad only because of my family will still be in America. I don't hate America and I'm not a disloyal American. I just want to live in Germany. Simple as that.

NO. Why would I want to leave a country that is the greatest country in the world? Do you think any other country is without problems? I was born and raised here and will remain and fight for what I think is right - I am not going to ignorantly "bug out" because we have run into problems that are troublesome. Get real and join the fight to preserve or take back the country that we want it to be!

Yes, I would love to move to Puerto Rico! You are not the only one who wants to get out of here.

I'm tired of the attitudes a lot of Americans have regarding other people who don't look like them. I think Americans have their priorities wrong.

Run away to where nobody cares to know your name.

Social/political reasons?

What a cop out.

Americans that leave, aren't true Americans anyway.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I lived outside of the U.S. for 22 years and the only reason I had to come back was, the value of the dollar is so trashed that I could no longer afford to live where it's civilized. I'd leave the U.S. in an instant if I could afford to leave here.

I don't want to leave but I would like to see things change. A lot of people will say "fine, leave" to you but you shouldn't. There Are better days ahead and you should stick around to see them. This country is about change.

There are all sorts of people who want to leave, for all sorts of reasons. PERSONALLY, my hubby and I would LOVE to be transferred with his work to Ireland, and while we would like to remain citizens of America (in the hope that one day some of our leaders will get there heads out of their....well you know), we'd LOVE to live in Ireland.

many Americanas want to leave including my self coz it is not a safe place to be,the political status is not condusive for the survival fitness of mankind, for example, the iraq tragedy, osama,it is better to live in poverty rather than living in the mist of plenty but eating pizza while still terrified and afraid of suicide bombings,we no longer love america and i my self prefare somalia, afganistane, zimbabwe.

I want to leave! I don't like it here. I don't like the people, the food, the weather, I don't like anything. It's only going to get worse in my opinion, so I want to leave before the fall. Political does have something to do with it as well. It's not all about that though. I just don't think I can ever be happy here, and I'm heading out the first chance I get.

Instead of asking the question, pack your bags and don't let America's proverbial door hit you in the a$$! You have no idea how easy you have it here!

I am a 9/11 survivor and would NEVER leave! Go through a 9/11 -- you'll get straightened out!

I do. Only because of the politics and the violence that is getting out of control. I would like to move to a small town outside a Reserve and have a big house with horses and ferocious dogs.

A place where I can take the horse to town for groceries and errands. And pull my children in a sled to school! lol
