Question:
How does Bjork appear to have East Asian/Inuit features but be completely Icelandic?

She claims she has no Asian ancestry. Is it just a random mixture of genes, or maybe she has ancestors from way back and just happened to get the looks? I know a British girl with Asian features in her eyes, but she said she has Burmese ancestry. So that comes from somewhere. But what about Bjork? Does this just happen to people sometimes?

Here is something from Yahoo! that answers Bjork's and Iceland's background a little http://ask.yahoo.com/20000720.html

I do believe it would have to do with recessive genes, and two people getting together that just happened to have the right combination to produce such a beautiful woman, that is so different than the average person in the country (not saying they are ugly though). Kind of like the purple eyes effect. The gene is out there, but so few people have it that we seldom see purple eyes. Elizabeth Taylor being one of the only famous people to have them.

So, yes ... I believe in an untraceable fashion ... Bjork has Inuit in her, but from the ancestors that immigrated a millenia or so ago, that were also visiting Canada, Greenland, and other North Atlantic areas.

Great question. Hope I helped :)

Broad shoulders, barrel chest, thickness, stoutness, rugged looks.... lol Sounds like I'm writing a romance novel.

Think of how close Iceland is to Greenland. Greenland has a HUGE Inuit population. That's why.
