Why do people hate fat girls? Whats wrong with them?

I was looking at questions earlier about "fat girls". (I hate using that term, but I don't know any other way to put it)

There was someone who was saying fat girls stink. Uh! ANYONE with ANY KIND of body type can smell, hun. Not just bigger girls.

And I really hate how most people think all fat girls want to do is eat. Once again, NOT TRUE. Some might, but for the most part, uh no!

There was someone who said he wouldn't dance with a bigger girl because she might eat him. Since when has canniballs(sp?) and obese girls been the same thing? Seriously, I want to know.

Why people? My Aunt is obese, but heck she smells better than the barbie next door. Why do people create such...stereotypes? Do they really have THAT much time on their hands?

I don't know about yall, but I think that is rather pathetic. I see nothing wrong with bigger girls.

I'm not looking for stupid answers. If you wanna hate cause of what I said, well go take your 2 cents somewhere else. I don't care.

Everybody sweats, but fat people sweat more, and it takes less exertion to make them begin sweating.



The sweat glands in certain places, especially the places that would be naturally covered in hair, excrete fat from surrounding tissues. The fat deposited by the sweat glands on the skin attracts germs which, after feeding, excrete waste. The waste from bacteria are what give people body odor. Fat people have a bigger problem with that than thin people do.



Also, guys who have had sex with fat women can tell you that it feels really WEIRD to "sink" down into those folds of excessive blubber. It's not "sexy," either. It's repulsive. Combine that with the excessive sweat and body smell problem, and it's no wonder guys don't like fat girls.



Also, nature seems to have programmed men to admire women with a specific ratio of waist-to-hip circumference. In scientific studies done on human female attractiveness, a waist to hip measurement ratio of 0.7 is considered optimally beautiful in nearly all human cultures.

I agree with you sweetie, the bigger folks I have known in my life are usually the kinder gentler souls. What I want to know is how come the chubby guys don't catch the flack that the females do? Why do women have to live up to these standards, but men do not? And society wonders why so many women struggle with eating disorders, whether it be anorexia or binge eating!



I don't think all people are as harsh as the ones who made those comments though. It's alot easier to say those things on a site like this because you don't really have to be accountable for it, and for some reason forums such as this one seems to bring the shallow souls out in droves.



With that being said....I couldn't help but giggle a little at the comment Mr. Big made ;-)

I guess the term you should use is "obese." Not everyone "hates" obese woman, but the stereotypes go on because some people perpetuate them, such as they eat too much, etc.

I'll be honest, I don't think a woman who is very obese is attractive in any way. I'm sure you woman out there feel the same about very obese men. Being obese is a physical liability in many ways. Many people don't want to put up with such a liability. Obesity is unhealthy, prone to more accidents, and leads to a much shorter life span. Since most people are not very obese, they tend to "steer" away from those that are because it's too different for their tastes.

Does that mean I like my women skinny? Not even so. I find a very skinny woman looks unhealthy. I'm more into a woman who's slightly plump with nice size hips. I guess you can call this a full figured woman. This to me is attractive. Mmmmm!!

I wrote this comment while sitting in the library a table away from a fat girl. She ate 3 times in the 2 hours Ive been sitting here. She spent 90% of the time talking about how stupid her friends are and how much work she has to do. Meanwhile countless attractive girls have come and gone all around us and have not eaten anything or spent large amounts of time complaining. Most fat girls are self destructing and no guy wants that.

You make fair and valid points - and not being interested in giurls full stop - I can perhaps answer with a degree of neautrality.



People stereotype - it isn't fair or pleasant, but they do nonethless. The problem is that sterotypes tend to have a grain of truth in them - which is why they came into being in the first place.



Although your Aunt may smell like sugar and spice, there are a LOT of overweight people who do NOT spend as much time on personal hygeine - and yup, this DOES seem to be more so than with average / underwight people.



When VERY obese, this become much more noticable still - as it can get to the stage where even iof the person WANTS to be clean, it is physically difficult for them to reach all areas that need a little freshening.



Always eating? Well I agree that again that is a big generalisation - but between you and me, it would kind oif suggest that they are eating a wee bit more than the slim girl next door - either that or she isn't doing much physical activity to keep herself in trim.



For a lot of people it ISN'T the weight that is the issue - weight is often a symptom of other things - low self image, little interest in physical activity, comfort eating to make things worse, clothes that are 3 sizes to small and make people look even bigger don't help either.



There is no hate here - I am way past my ideal weight too and certainly have no right to judge anyone - but equally there ARE reasons why some folks do prefer someone who looks after their body more than someone that doesn't - or "not quite as much".

Actually im overweight and I probably eat less then most people do. I blew out both my knees and when i stopped being active thats when i put weight on. I still dance but i cant work out or do cardio like i used to. I dont over eat or eat fast food or eat bon bons all day... And i most certainly do not smell at any time.

Plus not everyone hates us... I do ok...

I agree with you that there is a general ignorance regarding weight and think for the most part i am healthy and if someone doesnt like me because of me weight screw you i dont need you.

the skinny ladies are shallow and weren't taught by employing their mum and dad to different than human beings for who and what they're. human beings ought to on no account be judged by employing their outward visual attraction, yet Society says that while you're no longer skinny then there is a few thing incorrect with you. only look at the outfits contained available for purchase; they have a lot of length a million-7, yet something from 9 and up they only have a million or 2 on the main. fairly hassle-loose women/ladies positioned on a length 9-13, whether it fairly is amazingly problematical to stumble on those sizes. a minimum of it fairly is for me. a guy or woman can nevertheless be appealing on the interior whether you do no longer locate their out ward visual attraction alluring. only be your self and stay life to the Fullest and revel in each and every Minute Of It.....no count number what shape you're.....

There is a saying that people hate what they fear. I think because of society's emphasis that being fat is bad and dangerous and because people are ridiculed for being overweight or obese, then a lot of people are afraid that they will become that way too. So if they ostracize heavy people and say they won't do anything they do then they think they won't be heavy.



And I read somewhere that some really big people with folds can get infections under them but they can't see or reach it when they're taking a bath or shower and that is what causes the odor.

I like your question/commentary. Being a "fat girl" all my life (I'm now 39 and stillheavy, but I did lose 100 pounds and am still working on it) I'd like answers,too.

People, especially immature kids, make fun of those who are different for many reasons. They may be insecure and think making fun of others makes people think better of them. They may be trying to be funny. Some people have the misconception that fat people eat all the time and are sloppy and lazy.

These things are not always true. I am an intelligent, professional and successful woman - beautiful according to some, happy with a sexy husband. But small-minded people, and kids, still laugh. Even our male adult room mate has a fat phobia. Go figure.

I'm clean and dress nicely. I am just larger than most. And I've never lacked boyfriends .....so I guess this isn't an answer but a supportive comment on your question. Does anyone have an answer?

I'm a big girl myself.... I hate being fat and I don't eat much but I'm still big. My friends say I'm big boned but all the skinnier girls say I'm fat because I can't stop eating. Boys laugh at me and say I'll crush them with my fat arms if they try to give me hug. The teachers say its because they are jealous, i think there jealous because us bigger girls are the nicest people you could ever meet. One person once said to me that its good to be big because the bigger you are more you care. I don't think anyone is fat, I think the girls that are bigger then others are big because there heart is so big. Never think your fat, your only big because your heart is big!

There are many characteristics identified over time by society for being good or ugly. If people are in the group that are being discriminated, they should find ways to disprove the false conception. Everybody should be educated about the ill effects of stereotyping and discrimination.

The problem is that our modern society and the press tell people that what matters is what is on the outside rather than what is on the inside. It is truly unfair to create stereotypes based on appearance, but I feel that there isn't much to be done about it. Hopefully society's outlook will change...'til then we will just have to do our best not to stereotype and to ignore those who do.

I agree. And people create these stereotypes, because of the media. They make jokes out of the plus sized ladies and bow down at the feet of skinny minnies.



Think about it...If Rosie O'Donnell was a size 2, everyone would love her. If she were getting out of a car- and had no panties on, that'd be bigger news than Paris Hilton doing it. Because how DARE a bigger girl go without underwear.

People hate fat girls for the same reason they hate any other type of person...out of ignorance. Stupid answers like "I was afraid she'd eat me" only further emphasize my point.



Unfortunately, television, radio, the internet, magazines, etc. all help promote the fashionability of disliking heavy people.



Try this term 'BBW' (Big Beautiful Woman). Its a common term used today, and remember that true beauty has nothing to do with weight.

actually who ever said they smell is incorrect, absolutely. Heavier women always smell better in perfumes because, quite basically, there are more folds for the fragrance to be absorbed......perfume companys test on heavier girls for fragrance....so there!!!

I have heavy friends and skinny ones.....the skinny ones that diet all the time and can't sit down to a good meal bug me.....they are so self absorbed!!!!

I do not know, however most tend to give off a bad first impression, like a bad attitude, I guess it might stem from "if I'm mean to them first then I wont feel as bad". You must understand that most of them are so used to gettin picked on for being overwieght, that they'd rather make enemy's then friends that will stab them in the back, calling them fatso and such. People always seem to have a need to put others down in order to make themselves feel better than them. I hope it will evolve out of them someday.



Overweight people in times of illness and extreme poverty were seen as people who had money and the ability to eat well. I think this is where the prejudice began. Now we are just all supposed to be anorexic or we cannot be sexy and do not deserve to be loved.

Society has told people that being larger than a size 0 is horrendously bad. Heck, a long time ago women padded their dresses to appear larger, skinnyness used to be a BAD thing.

SOME FAT PEOPLE ARE TO FAT BECAUSE THEY EAT TO MUCH. IT SAD TO SAY BUT TRUE. I WORKED WITH A FEW AND THEY ALWAYS HAD SOMETHING TO EAT.

First of all, there is no way in hell that you can become obese without eating. Yes you can gain some weight if you have a medical condition but you can't get fat without food.

It is a very simple rule of physics.

Second of all, if you are so obese that you can't even see your genitals, how can you wash them properly?

It is just logic.

People are fat because they overeat and they eat poorly. For the most part.

While it's true some people have disorders that cause them to gain weight.....that is not the majority. Fat people want to be accepted in society. And society want to enable them to continue being fat thinking that it's not their fault. All the ad campaigns every year for a different weight loss pill that targets some newly discovered fat gene. Fat people are big business. Look at countries that don't have the kind of endless access to disgusting fattening food that the U.S. does and then look at the percentage of people who are overweight.

Bottom line.....if you're fat, it probably IS YOUR FAULT. And you're the only one who can do something about it.



By enabling these people we're only assuring they'll pass on their disgusting habits to their children....who statistically speaking, will be even fatter.



And obese women and men do tend to smell worse on average.
