Question:
Just wondering why both Black female singers and White female singers are measured as such?

Equals in some ways? I see people compare Beyonce and Ashley Simpson all the time and act like that are on the same level. I recently took the time to just listen to a R&B station, which is not what I traditionally listen to, to hear the women's pipes. For every so-so white female pop singer who I constantly see all over the news, there is about fifty black or hispanic female singers who could knock them out of the water, vocally, who I never hear anything about. Just a little confused here. It's almost like a bad type of affirmative action regarding talent.

Yeah, I didn't think you could, STFU.

Yup, there's peops out there that think Anna Kournikova is a good tennis player too. There's not much you can do about it becaue you're not going to change the way society thinks, at least not overnight.

My personal opinion is that Ashley Simpson sucks as a singer, and she sure as heck can't act neither. Who exactly is it that is saying she's talented? (Sorry, teeny bops paying for her concert tickets don't count.)

Its not affrimative action...its economics. In a majority caucasian country, caucasion beauty is the standard f beauty. So the music industry knows that a so so singer with classical caucasian beaut will likely outsell an singer who does not fit this idea!!! Why do you think Mariah Carey hid her African American heritage when she first came on the scene?

I don't know but for the most part I agree. Mya and Alicia Keys, in my opinion, are two of the most talented!

I know, people like keysia cole, alicia keys, beyonce, fantasia can really sing. But then again you have people that can't sing worth crap, but they have an awesome stage presence which makes them famous, examples are rihanna (have you ever heard her live, she lets her backup singers coverup the fact that she can't sing while she prances onstage), brittney (earlier), madonna, all of them can't sing worth crap, but they have that certain star quality about them.

-Pink's vocal chords knocks out Beyonce's and a lot of other R&B singers.

-The lead singer from the rock group "Korn" blows Usher, Chris Brown and a lot of other R&B singers away with his vocal chords.

-Mellisa Ethridge (although I disagree with her sexual preference) has a lot of R&B female singers blown away with her Vocal pipes.

- And Aerosmith is a TKO compared to Musiq soul child, John legend and many other R&B male singers.

I could go on and on and on. I do like R&B more than Rock but when it comes to comparing heavy hard hitting sound waves, well Rock singers are at the very tip top of The lists.

Maybe they should change the term "Rock & Roll" to "Rock & Roll Soul" or just "Rock & Soul".
